Richard W. Shapiro

Richard W. Shapiro founded the Law Offices of Richard W. Shapiro P.L.C. in August 2001 after leaving the law firm of Snell & Wilmer L.L.P, where he practiced as a senior partner in the Product Liability Group and also served as the lead litigator in the Environmental/Toxic Tort Group. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation, with an emphasis on product liability, medical malpractice, and other cases involving serious personal injury and wrongful death. Over the course of his career, Mr. Shapiro has served as lead counsel in multiple jury trials in federal and state courts and several additional bench trials. Mr. Shapiro also has mediated several cases pending in federal and state courts on behalf of his clients, and he has served as the arbitrator in civil lawsuits pending in the State of Arizona. Richard W. Shapiro is a 1979 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law, where he was the Editor in Chief of the Arizona Law Review, a member of the National Moot Court team representing the College of Law, and received several awards for academic achievement. Following law school, he clerked for Honorable William P. Copple, United States District Judge for the District of Arizona.
